Launching Upwind and Rudder Repair

I went to the local non-motorized launch spot today to attempt one last Sunfish (OK also my first..longish story... but I did sail other boats this year).
Also first launch off a dolly. In the fray I got the back end of the boat fouled in the dolly with the sail up and heard a snap. The rudder split at the repair and broke the small piece of wood framing it.



I suppose the rudder's sacrifice ( don't anthropomorphize them, they hate that ) kept worse thing from happening but it...
