Just some rigging questions

So I watch what I can on youtube for different styles of sailing on our little dinghies. my CL14 is a great starter. If I can I might move up to a CL16 next year. But while watching I sometimes see people put some kind of tube over their shrouds to keep the jib sheets from dragging on the buckles. I think this is a superb idea.
