Rudder hack?

So...in the pile of rudders I have, I came across one with the pintel installed upside down from the stock orientation i think. I thought it was a bit odd until I fit it up..and it made total sense. I've noticed that when trying to remove the assembly the tiller obstructs the pintle and makes it difficult to get my fingers In there. If you flip the pintel over and feed it up from the bottom, you only have to pull down from underneath. I worried for a moment that if the snap ring fails the...
