I’ll hazard a guess that most who read this board won’t be familiar with Lyon as a mid-table team in the Top 14. Those who might have thought that avoiding Owen Farrell’s reprise in a final involving Bath was beneficial might actually need to reconsider.
Lyon are one of those sides that, considering the squad, you might well say the team are under performing. Their current players include familiar names like Camille Chat and Sebastien Taofifenua in the front row, Lavanini the big Argentinian lock and the enigmatic Semi Radradra together with the Italian wing Monty Ioane in the backs, interestingly none of whom played in the recent Racing 92 semi-final. Camille Chat joined Lyon from Racing but was recently let go by them after turning up to training after the new year celebrations still drunk! Question might well be: will they make a return for the final?
