Pretty much sums up why I’m still on Powell’s side. I’m sure he’s made errors too and is learning new things about coaching and also himself. For those who blame him for turning things upside down, it was the club who recognised this needed to be done and tasked the coach with that based on his history. He admits it’s never been so hard to change a mindset of a team.
It's not just the players he has to convince. Its the fans. And he hasn't convinced the fans at all. He thinks because we are "safe" that its going to be all roses from now. Not at all.
Daryl powells highlights fo 2022 include.
> Changing the mindset of players to do the following.
● 15 times we have conceded 30+ points in a game.
● Atleast 6 capitulations
● One of. If not the best defensive record to the worst.
And daryl Powell himself has done the following to his career.
● P!$$!^g off 3 quarters of the locker room.
● A questionable coaching history (when you look at his castleford coaching career. Its not actually all that impressive. Steve price and tony smith all beat him with essentially a squad of "bad apples")
● His win ratio is 30% as warrington coach.
