EAGLES 18-30 BULLDOGS

Batley secured their 4th consecutive win after defeating Sheffield Eagles 18 – 30 in a competitive game of Rugby League.

Fullback Luke Hooley was to scoop the first try of the evening with a storming dive to the line collecting a quick pass from Kieran Buchanan. Tom Gilmore couldn’t add the extras.

However, Rob Worrincy for the hosts did reply adding his 200th career try successfully crashing over on the wing. Isaac Farrell converted.

Just before half-time increasing pressure saw an Eagles loose carry with Tom Gilmore gathering to complete a stunning defence to offence move. Gilmore converted his own try, gifting the Bulldogs a narrow lead of 6 – 10.

Aston’s men started the next half like the first seeing them challenge all aspects of the Bulldogs defensive line for any potential breaks. Rob Worrincy and Jordan Bull found those gaps swiftly placing the scoreboard into their favour. Isaac Farrell converted one out of the two.

Although, that would be the last try for the hosts as the visitors saw four tries come through in a matter of the final 17 closing minutes. Luke Hooley claimed his second, Dane Manning with a busting run, Johnny Campbell picking up his 100th career try and rocket Elliot Hall collecting the last. Gilmore converted one out of the first three and Morton taking the kicking duties for the last, however placed it just wide.
