Indeed, a tragic situation all around - I believe when he had signed for us, his body couldn't quite keep up to the demands (hence the PEDs to aid recovery), from hearing him talk at the time, rugby was just about the only thing he had left in life.
A great player with a great career, I always hated watching him against us, on field, very grubby but tough old school 9.
