Statements on Transgender Inclusion in Rugby

Following recent news circulating throughout the rugby and sport communities, Rugby Canada, Rugby Ontario and Bingham Cup Ottawa released statements regarding the proposed guidelines concerning transgender players. 

Rugby Canada, under its own press release, provided an update on the feedback submitted by the national union to the proposed transgender guidelines that were drafted by a World Rugby working group.  In a joint statement by Bingham Cup Ottawa and Rugby Ontario, the two organizations are united in advocating against the proposed guidelines, whereby a policy change would recommend banning trans women from the sport of rugby.  The press releases can be accessed at the following links:
