The Virtual Terrace • Future of the Game

I would love to know where this myth that having Bradford in SL would increase Sky subscriptions is coming from, plenty of towns and cities have no football club shown on Sky yet people subscribe. The idea that people subscribe to Sky purely on the basis of SL is laughable,.

I think he is a Bradford fan.

You can't blame him for starting a rumour and pushing his agenda as hard as possible, a bit like a certain long lost (pseudo) Frenchman used to do on these boards.

I agree with him that a fully solvent, fully functioning Bulls set up, that had gained promotion through the correct channels could still do very well but and it's a huge bur, right now, they are a mid/lower table Championship side, playing at Dewsbury's ground, which is a million miles away from having SL credentials.

The talk of trying to arrange "big money" fixtures, when we get back up and running, although propositioned with good intentions, is just fantasy land stuff.
The priority will be to save as many clubs as possible, which will only be done by somehow completing the season, maybe followed by a shorter season (perhaps without the loop fixtures and then review where we go from there.
Right now Toronto looks impossible, unless (ironically) they move into somewhere like Odsal and become an (even more) English side but, travel to Toronto and Perpignan look a million miles away from being possible in the foreseeable future.
