For whatever reason the sports you quote have very high media profiles internationally already, and get huge daily coverage everywhere you can look, from traditional media like radio, TV and newspapers right though to the various social media and Web based platforms. That is not the case for Rugby League generally, nor Warrington Wolves in particular. TBH I cringed when I visited Anfield last November to see the sign they have that makes the ridiculous claim that they are 'more than a football club' or some such nonsense. I don't agree with all that Karl Fitzpatrick is doing but he is making an effort that is having some success. On a more immediate level I have seen adverts and flyers for matches in Polish, which is a great idea to try to get some of our newer communities involved.

To be fair to SC it was Fitzpatrick himself who drew comparisons to iconic leading sports brands.
“The reason we’ve come to this location is because it’s in the shadows of Old Trafford,” Fitzpatrick continues. “It’s not just because it’s where the Super League Grand Final is played, but Manchester United are an iconic leading sports brand, and that’s what we’ve got to aim for.
"Obviously Manchester United are on a different level to most, but we want to get to a position where we are a leading sports brand.”
