It seems a strange way to break up what was a winning formula and team. At Leeds at least the top players retired whereas at Wigan it very much appears like something happened or there was a massive breakdown in the relationships between the major figures.
If you think of Wigan of a few years ago with their core of Tomkins, McIlorum, O’Loughlin, Bateman and Wane. I doubt many Wigan fans thought there would only be O’Loughlin left in 2019. Especially with the way those 3 players and Wane left, it clearly wasn’t a happy parting of ways.
Then add on this farce with Edwards and you have to question what the bleedin hell is going on.
