Nicolas Pelorson becomes the second person to climb the legendary Big Island Assis, the sit start to Big Island in Fontainebleau, France. The original problem is the most-repeated 8c [V15] in the world. The Belgian Simon Lorrenzi completed the first ascent of the sit start in February of this year, grading it 9a [V17]. It would have been the second V17 in the world, but Pelerson downgraded the problem with his repeat, calling it 8c+ (V16). Read the full saga here. Either way, it’s an impressive boulder. Watch Pelerson’s ascent in the video above.
