With greasy conditions on the ridge today we chose to head up Sgurr Alasdair via the South-West Ridge (3). The route starts at Bealach Sgumain via a lovely walk into Coire a’ Ghrunnda which gives some lovely views across to Rum. A bad step is avoided by a chimney to the right of the Bealach and then some fun scrambling leads to the highest summit on Skye, followed by a dash down the great stone chute to beautiful Coire Lagan.
