2017 saw a rash of unusual MMA and traditional martial arts stories spawn out of China and some nearby nations. These included bizarre style vs style fights that pitted MMA versus Tai Chi and Wing Chun versus Karate, an MMA gym that adopted hundreds of orphans, and the underground ‘monster fight club’ in Chengdu.
