102 Veterans to Represent GB at the Veterans World Judo Championships

The full team set to represent Great Britain at the upcoming Veterans World Judo Championships has been confirmed, featuring a strong lineup of experienced judoka across all weight and age categories set to fight from 3-7 November 2025 in Paris.

In the men’s divisions, Colin Francis (M3) and Winnie Graham (M6) will compete at -60kg, while the -66kg categories feature Antony Ashton (M3), Giovanny Antalika (M4), Craig Bowater (M6) and James Draper (M1). The highly competitive -73kg divisions see an exceptional group of judoka, including Adrian Besly (M8), Adam Green (M2), Sajjad Zarrinkolah (M2), Russell Todd (M7), Tibor Banyai (M2), Neil Boote (M3), Giovanni Loi (M4), Michael Pring (M7), Kieron Bhargava (M5), Adrian Leibert (M4), Jeevan Matharu (M2), Gavin Towers (M4), James Forrest (M4), James Lewis (M1), Adam Stevens (M1), and Steven Bowles (M6).

The -81kg lineup is one of the largest, featuring John Thacker (M7), Michael Hurst (M5), Daniel Cuadrado (M2), Gavin Archibald (M6), Peter Hawes (M4), Steve Stacy (M3), Matthew Hucker (M2), Nicholas Collins (M8), Glen Judd (M8), Gary Evans (M5), Jeffrey Lawson (M4), James Hornsby (M4), Philip Rogan (M3), Antony Sayers (M5), David Hurst (M5), Terence Watt (M9), Kern Foot (M1) and Mark Taylor (M5).

At -90kg, Faouzi Zerrouk (M8), Mendes Azevedo (M4), Paul Cooper (M3), Mark Creegan (M6), Stephen Evans (M6), Stephen Milne (M2), Ashley Parrette (M6), Shaun Mark Mitty (M6), Max McDonald (M3) and Barry Tickell (M5) make up a formidable group. The -100kg division includes Martin Barrie (M7), Stephen Preece (M7), David McGuire (M8), Mark Adams (M2), Rafal Lichodziejewski (M3), Nigel Thompson (M7), Frazer McBeath (M2), Daniel Harper (M2), Patrick Bryan (M9), Colin Jarvis (M2), James Waithe (M7), Nicholas Hawke (M4), Will Lovell (M1), Winston Ginsberg (M6), Lee Cahalane (M5), Craig Robbins (M4) and Christopher Horton (M3).

The +100kg categories will feature Andrew Melbourne (M2), James McKelvie (M8), Sean Doran (M7), Joseph Williams (M7), Fred Itiose (M6), Attila Fekete (M5), Dale Jones (M1), Ceri Griffiths (M4), David Bennion (M4)and Bogdan Lica (M5).

On the women’s side, Great Britain will also field a powerful lineup across every category. In the -57kg division, Emma Burnett (F3), Francesca Roode (F4), Dianne White (F7) and Charmaine Alford (F1) will compete. The -63kg group includes Samantha Chraniuk (F3), Natasha Glassford (F2), Becky Dunning (F2), Caroline Brayson (F2), Ria Jones (F3), Kay Andrews (F8), Hannah Smith Neal (F4) and Rosemary Felton (F6).

In the -70kg divisions, Simone Strong (F6), Samantha Hamilton (F2), Emma Delaney (F3), Kylie Adams (F2), Nicole Ruduss (F4), Ameesha Bhudia (F2), Laura Plumridge (F1), Tasha Mathias (F1) and Hazel Taylor (F1) will represent the team. The -78kg lineup features Lesley Reid (F7), Joanne Gregory (F6), Dawn Netherwood (F8) and Danielle Batt (F2).
