British Adaptive & VI Open and British Minors Championships 2025 Preview
Welsh Judo will welcome the judo community to Cardiff this weekend for a packed two days of competition at the Sport Wales National Centre. On Saturday 2nd August, the British Adaptive & VI Open takes centre stage, followed by the British Minors Championships on Sunday 3rd August.
Over 100 adaptive and visually impaired athletes and 171 minors are set to compete, making this one of the most exciting weekends on the calendar.
Saturday’s event brings together adaptive and visually impaired judoka from across the UK and beyond. More than just a competition, it’s a celebration of inclusion, opportunity, and the power of judo to bring people together.
On Sunday, the youngest competitors will take to the tatami, with U12S from around the country battling for a place on the podium. The day also includes training camp sessions, led by Kerry Tansey, offering valuable insight and development for all athletes involved.

For those attending in person, there is a car park with disabled parking at the front of Sport Wales National Centre, parking is on a first come first-served basis and is free while using the centre.
Alternatively, there are a number of other car parks within short walking distance, please review the Cardiff Council website for further detail.
Food and refreshments will be available on-site at the Hwb Café.
