Tatum Keen and Nicole Wood Join British Judo’s World Class Performance Programme
British Judo welcomes two talented judoka to the World Class Performance Programme (WCPP), with both now based at the National Training Centre in Walsall.
British Judo is excited to announce that Tatum Keen (Bradley Stoke Judo Club) and Nicole Wood (Bishops Stortford Judo Club) have joined the World Class Performance Programme and are now training full-time at the National Training Centre in Walsall.
Both athletes have made a strong start to 2025, demonstrating excellent form and promising potential. Their recent performances have earned them a place among the nation’s elite judoka, and we look forward to supporting their continued development on the international stage.
Tatum Keen has impressively balanced her burgeoning judo career with university studies over the past few years. Despite the demands of both, she has consistently performed at an elite level, making her senior debut at the European and World Championships in 2025.
This year, Keen claimed silver at the Warsaw European Open and finished 7th at the Dushanbe Grand Slam. Her 2024 results were equally impressive, earning silver at both the Prague European Open and the Riga Senior European Cup, bronze at the Tunis African Open, and a 5th-place finish at the U23 European Championships.
She is the latest in a strong lineup of talented judoka from Bradley Stoke Judo Club to join the World Class Performance Programme, and there’s no doubt that her future is bright.
Nicole Wood is enjoying a breakout season on the junior circuit. So far in 2025, she has secured silver medals at the Kaunas and Malaga Junior European Cups, bronze in Istanbul, and a 5th-place finish at the Poznan Junior European Cup.
The Bishops Stortford Judokwai athlete is in outstanding form and is proving to be a serious contender at every event she enters. With full-time coaching and support now in place, we’re excited to see just how far she can go.
British Judo’s Performance Director, Kate Howey, said, “Tatum and Nicole will be a great asset to the WCPP. Both have excelled so far this year, and hopefully, this transition will help them achieve their goals in judo moving forward.
“This is a great opportunity for both fighters, and I would like to thank their respective clubs and coaches for supporting them to this point. I look forward to working together to help Tatum and Nicole on the rest of their journey in the sport.”
Congratulations, Tatum and Nicole!
