Guidance for Entering the Birmingham Junior European Cup
With the Great Britain edition of the Junior European Cup just around the corner, we have compiled some simple guidance for British judoka looking to enter.
- Judo Base Registration
Before entering any European Judo Union (EJU) event, you must have a registered JudoBase card. If you do not already have a JudoBase Registration or it has expired, please follow the attached link to purchase one: https://www.britishjudo.org.uk/judobase-registration-card/ (You do not need the physical card at the event).
If you want to check the expiry date on your JudoBase membership please email events@britishjudo.org.uk
- Read through the event outlines
We advise that you read through the event outlines thoroughly. You will find all the information you need for the event, including timing of accreditation, weigh-in, hotel details, etc. If staying in official accommodation, you must book for minimum of 2 nights, or there is a non-accommodation fee of 120 Euros. This is a requirement from the EJU as part of the Event Outlines. Please note that all under 18s who are booked into official accommodation must be registered with an over 18 (parent/guardian/coach), who stays in the accommodation with them and is responsible for them during their stay.
The Cat C, Walsall Campus Accommodation is being reserved for international entries. This is to encourage more international entries into the event to ensure that GBR athletes have new judoka to compete against. After the 1st of July any spaces available onsite will then become available to GBR athletes.
- Complete the booking form
When you have a valid Judo Base Registration and have read through the event outlines, please complete the ‘Hotel & Transfer Form’ and send directly to CSE: judo@cseplc.com
* Please note, entering any other EJU event, you must complete the attached form: https://www.britishjudo.org.uk/international-event-entry/
Once the form has been sent and has been checked, you will receive an invoice which must be paid in full by Friday 04th July 2025. Details for making the payment can be found in the Event Outlines on page 7.
You will be added to the events entry list when the BJA events team has been informed of your confirmed entry.
- Accreditation and Weigh-in
You or your coach must collect your accreditation on the Friday before the event. At accreditation you will confirm the weight category you have registered and be entered into the draw that evening. You will not be able to make any changes, including weight changes, after the closing of accreditation.
If you are unable to attend the accreditation, please email the BJA events team before the Friday, and confirm your name and weight category is correct. The events team can collect your accreditation on your behalf.
- Telegram for updates
During the event, updates will be made to the ‘EJU Event Channel’. You can sign up to the group by scanning the code that will be on the back of your accreditation.
- Training Camp
If you would like to attend the training camp, please complete the ‘Hotel & Transfer Form’ . You must stay in official accommodation for a minimum of 1 night, or you can pay the 60 Euro non-accommodation fee. Information on the training camp can be found on the outlines and a schedule will be sent out closer to the event.
- Coaching Matside.
If you have a coach attending the event, they must also register through the ‘Hotel & Transfer form’. The cost of accommodation also applies to coaches that will be attending, and they must fill out the ‘Hotel & Transfer Form’.
Coaches attending the event must be a valid Level 2 or higher coach to be eligible to coach at matside – all coaches must be registered on JudoBase to coach matside at this event.
