Celebrate the Power of Coaching: Join UK Coaching Week 2025 to Share, Inspire, and #PassItOn

0 9

This UK Coaching Week, UK Coaching is celebrating the transformative power of coaching with the theme #PassItOn, encouraging coaches, organisations, and the public to share the wisdom and experiences that has changed lives.

Running from 2 to 8 June, the awareness week shines a light on the unique impact coaches have on individuals, teams, and communities across the UK.

Coaches play a pivotal role in shaping lives, not just through sport and physical activity, but by providing life-changing support and guidance that builds confidence, resilience, and strength. This year, UK Coaching is inviting participants, athletes, coaches, and anyone who has been positively influenced by coaching to reflect on and share the experience that has made the greatest impact on their journey. Whether it’s a piece of guidance that boosted confidence, a word of encouragement that ignited passion, or a lesson that shaped a career, coaching is about more than performance, it’s about people.

Throughout UK Coaching Week, UK Coaching is encouraging everyone to share their stories of great coaching that has left a lasting impact, embracing the theme #PassItOn.

Each day of the week will spotlight a different aspect of coaching, highlighting the diversity and depth of the role coaches play:

Monday: Coaching the Person in Front of You

The focus is on a personalised approach that prioritises individuals and children, recognising that every coach-participant or athlete relationship is unique and deserving of tailored support. Understanding each person’s needs, motivations, and strengths is key to effective coaching.

Tuesday: The Art of Effective Communication

Great coaching relies on clear, engaging, and empathetic communication. On Tuesday, we explore how meaningful conversations foster trust and connection, creating an environment where participants feel heard, understood, and supported.

Wednesday: Women in Coaching

We celebrate the incredible journeys, invaluable advice, and leadership of women in coaching. From breaking barriers to leading with passion, these inspiring female coaches are shaping the future of sport and physical activity.

Thursday: Lifelong Learning in Coaching

Coaching is a continuous journey of growth. Thursday highlights the importance of ongoing education, professional development, and embracing new ideas, techniques, and strategies to evolve and improve coaching practice.

Friday: Building Confidence

Coaching has the power to instil self-belief, resilience, and confidence. Friday is dedicated to the way great coaching enables individuals to trust themselves, overcome challenges, and unlock their full potential.

Saturday: Inspiring Change

On Saturday, we honour coaches driving positive societal change through sport and physical activity. These champions of diversity, inclusion, and community engagement use sport as a tool for broader impact.

Sunday: Celebrating Success

UK Coaching Week culminates in a celebration of success, recognising the progress, breakthroughs, and milestones achieved through great coaching, from personal victories to team triumphs.

As UK Coaching Week unfolds, UK Coaching encourages coaches to embrace a holistic approach, supporting each individual as they grow in both sport and life. Coaching nurtures resilience, leadership, teamwork, and decision-making, empowering people to thrive in all aspects of life.

Reflecting on the significance of coaching, UK Coaching CEO, Mark Gannon, said:

“Coaches shape not only athletes and participants but entire communities. This UK Coaching Week, we want to celebrate the support and guidance that coaches pass on every day. By sharing these stories, we inspire others to #PassItOn and continue the cycle of growth and learning. Recognising the extraordinary work coaches do in developing not only athletic skills but life skills is crucial. Let’s come together to inspire the next generation of coaches.”
