Successful Debut of the British Veterans Open in London
The inaugural British Veterans Open was held this past weekend at the University of East London, marking a fantastic new event on the calendar!
The British Veterans Open welcomed over 300 participants from more than 29 countries to East London on Saturday 29th of March.
We would like to extend our congratulations to everyone who medalled on Saturday and express our gratitude to everyone who travelled to join us, volunteered, and worked tirelessly to make this event a resounding success.
The atmosphere was incredible, with smiles all around, as people from diverse backgrounds competed, connected, conversed, and enjoyed an unforgettable experience.
“The Veterans Commission would like to thank everyone who made this event possible, as well as the players who embraced our vision for a truly international competition, with entries from at least 29 countries,” said Danielle Batt.
“On a personal note, I’m thrilled we were able to more than double the female participation seen at recent British Closed events, with over 50 women competing – making it one of the best veterans’ events in Europe for women, especially in just the inaugural year.
“We hope to continue growing this reputation for an even better event in 2026!”
A full album of photos from the event will be released in the coming days.
