British Judo Membership is Changing!
British Judo have reviewed our current membership offering and will begin to implement a more streamlined membership structure across the Association from 1st April.
The board have approved an increase membership fee from this date, in what will be the first increase that the British Judo Association has made to membership fees since November 2019.
The cost of an adult membership will rise to £45.00 per year, and we will be aligning our Junior, Student, Military and Blue Card into a single membership package costing £34.00, whilst we remove the option of the two-year membership.
From 1st April, new memberships and renewals will be processed via direct debit payment, and users will be prompted to complete any additional details at the final payment stage. It is vital for members who would like to progress through our Dan Grading scheme to maintain an active membership at all times in order to be considered for promotion.
New Membership categories and prices as of 1st April:
Category | New Prices (as of 1st April)
Full Membership | New/Renewal
Senior | £45.00 | |
Junior/Student/Military/Blue Card | £34.00
Introductory* | FREE |
* 6 weeks non-renewable. Finding Your Feet participants can apply for a 6-week extension through the Club Support Team.
£1.00 from all packages will continue to be contributed to the British Judo Trust. The Trust, founded in 2007, is a registered charity that focuses on providing grants to young people to assist them in attaining their full potential at all levels of judo. Often these young people come from family backgrounds with limited resources and the Trust is able to play a pivotal role in the development of these young people.
As a British Judo member, you will have access to our online membership portal, The Dojo, a brand new Member Zone (coming soon) on our website with access to an array of personalised and exclusive content, and our online discount portal – which provides members with an excellent array of discount codes for high street retailers and attractions, – liability insurance, access to British Judo events and competitions, the ability to join the BJA’s internationally recognised Grading Scheme, and access to elite programmes and membership services.
We will also shortly be launching a revamped range of British Judo merchandise courtesy of our online JudoStore.
In the coming months we will continue working with the Home Nations to find further ways to simplify the structures and digitalise the process.
Moving forwards, there will be an annual review of British Judo membership prices in-line with inflation on 1st April.
If your membership is due to expire shortly, you have until Monday 31st March to take advantage of the current membership prices before the increase to the new annual fee.
