Jake Paul called out by bare knuckle champ Hector Lombard

Yet another fighter wants to get paid by fighting a Paul brother.

Since washing out of the UFC on the heels of a six-fight losing skid, former Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard has found a home in bare-knuckle boxing.

The former Cuban national judo champion has been plying his trade for Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships since 2019. With BKFC he’s won three in a row over David Mundell, Kendall Grove and Joe Riggs.

The bout against Riggs, at last weekend’s BKFC 18, was for the BKFC cruiserweight championship. After winning that belt, Lombard decided to throw down with Lorenzo Hunt. The post-fight brawl was broken up with Riggs restraining Lombard.

It appears Lombard isn’t that interested in taking on Hunt, who also fights for BKFC, in his next bout. Instead ‘Showeather’ appears to be aiming for a much bigger payday.

“We do it at [BKFC] or we do it in a boxing match Jake Paul?” wrote Lombard on Instagram in an attempt to call out the 3-0 pro boxer.

“I know you wanna make it happen the question is where do you want to do it?? I know you want to do it in a boxing match.. but do you have the balls to do it at BareknuckleFC???”

Paul is currently concerned with former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, who he’ll meet in ring in August on Showtime.

Woodley will be the fourth 0-0 pro boxer Paul has faced in his young career. His first win was over fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib. His second win was a thunderous KO of former NBA player Nate Robinson. His third win came against former Bellator and ONE welterweight champion Ben Askren.

Lombard joined the UFC with much fanfare in 2012. Prior to that he had built an impressive 31-2-1 (1 NC) resume which included a 20 fight win streak over names like Jesse Taylor, Joe Doerksen and Alexander Shlemenko.

Things didn’t go as Lombard hoped in the Octagon. His promotional debut was a split decision loss to Tim Boetsch at UFC 149. After a win over Rousimar Palhares he lost another split decision to Yushin Okami. His only win streak in the UFC came next, with victories over Jake Shields and Nate Marquardt.

That streak was snapped in 2015 after a win over Josh Burkman was changed to a No Contest after Lombard tested positive for anabolic steroids. His six fight losing streak followed. That streak included a TKO loss to Neil Magny, KOs to Dan Henderson and Anthony Smith, unanimous decisions to Thales Leites and Johny Hendricks and a DQ versus C.B. Dolloway.
