Kayla Harrison PFL 2 full fight video highlights
There’s a little something about judo Olympians winning MMA fights by armbar, isn’t there?
Kayla Harrison, a two-time gold medalist, looked very sharp in her mixed martial arts debut Thursday night — and finished Brittney Elkin by armbar submission at 3:18 of the first round. Harrison has been often compared to her former roommate and training partner Ronda Rousey and the armbar was also her move of choice in MMA.

Harrison, 27, won her second gold medal in judo at the 2016 Summer Olympics. At the time, she was unsure about competing in MMA, but obviously changed her mind and is now training at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Fla.
Harrison didn’t get to show off too much of her striking skills against Elkin, getting the clinch and using her judo to get things to the ground relatively quickly. Once there, Harrison completely dominated.
This bout took place at 155 pounds, but the plan for Harrison is to cut down to 145 in the future with an eye toward an eventual fight with Cris Cyborg.
