Performances of our athletes in Rio brought the best result in the history of the countrys participation in the Olympic games

The summer Olympic games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro brought the great success to our athletes. The result of our sportsmen performances were 13 medals: four gold, two silver and seven bronze ones.

Olympic gold medals won boxers Hasanboy Dusmatov, Shahobiddin Zoirov, Fazliddin Gaibnazarov and weightlifter Ruslan Nurudinov.

Owners of silver medals became boxers Shahram Giyasov and Bektemir Melikuziev.

Bronze medals will bring to Uzbekistan judokas Diyorbek Urazbaev and Rishod Sabirov, boxers Rustam Tulaganov and Murodjon Ahmadaliev, the wrestler of Greco-Roman style Elmurat Tasmuradov, freestyle wrestlers Ihtiyor Navruzov and Magomed Ibragimov.

In overall standings the delegation of Uzbekistan took 21th place among 207 teams from around the world. It must be noted that our boxing team became the strongest in the world. In the asset of our boxers three gold, two silver and two bronze.

Our country was represented by 70 athletes in 15 sports. Tomorrow the Olympic team of the republic will come back from Rio de Janeiro to Uzbekistan, writes Sports.uz.
