Spruce Kings Acquire Simpson

The Prince George Spruce Kings have acquired defenseman Gabriel Simpson (07) and future considerations from the Okotoks Oilers in exchange for the BCHL Playing Rights of defenseman Fraser Leonard (06) and future considerations.

Simpson is 6’1, 201 pounds from Lafayette, Colorado, is in his first season in the BCHL.  In 32 games with Okotoks, Simpson scored three goals and added four assists for seven points.  He is committed to Lindenwood University.

Spruce Kings General Manager Mike Hawes: “It was important on this deadline to add another defenseman to the group heading down the stretch and into the playoffs. Gabe is a nice add for us. He skates well and uses his size to his advantage. We’re excited to add him.”
