Brendan Canning Connected to Snow and Len
I've been ironing out an annoying frame rate issue on recorded videos that were also live streamed. I think I have it sorted now. We'll find out at 2pm with Gill Deacon.
This issue, in a roundabout way, had me revisiting a recording of Broken Social Scene co-founder Brendan Canning's visit in May. He's a key figure in the local music scene, not just because of hHead and Broken Social Scene but he's also connected to two of Toronto's biggest jams: Informer and Steal My Sunshine.
The connection to Informer is precarious, as he knows Snow (a.k.a. Darrin O'Brien) from high school. Here's Brendan Canning on Toronto Mike'd telling me about Snow.
Brendan's connection to Len's Steal My Sunshine is far more significant. Not only did Brendan introduce Len to More, More, More by Andrea True Connection, the key sample in Steal My Sunshine, but as you'll hear here Brendan Canning can be heard on the album version of the song.
Here's my full conversation with Brendan Canning.
