0 28

Down two games in the series and 1-0 heading to the third period, the Prince George Spruce Kings turned the tables in 45 seconds to make it 2-1 and finished with a 3-1 victory over the Chilliwack Chiefs to take Game 3.

After a scoreless first period that saw the Spruce Kings outshoot the Chiefs 16-6, Chilliwack opened the scoring with just 1:17 remaining in the period as Caleb Malhotra deflected a Lucas Sorace point shot past Charles Gravel.

In the third period, Maks Percic went to his partner Brendan Gillmore who spotted Brock Cummings and sent him in on a breakaway. Cummings went backhand, forehand, backhand and tied the game at 7:34.

Just 45 seconds later, Nicolas Papineau placed the perfect shot over the blocker of Quentin Miller to make it 2-1, as Mason Loewen and Trent Ballentyne picked up the assists as the Spruce Kings faithful came to life.

Will Moore sealed the deal with an empty net goal at 18:40, as Ballentyne picked up his second assist.

Charles Gravel earned the third star with 18 saves as the Spruce Kings head into Tuesday’s Game 4. Puck Drop is 7:00 PM and tickets are available at https://bit.ly/PGSKPlayoffTickets
