The Powell River Kings are excited to announce the signing of 2006 born goaltender Ryan Tamelin.
The 18 year old netminder is from Invermere B.C. and stands at 6 foot 8 inches tall. This season he has played in 8 games. 1 for the Victoria Royals in the WHL and 7 with the AJHL’s Bonnyville Pontiacs. In those 7 games Tamelin had a 2-2-1 record, a goals against of 3.37 and a .882 save percentage.
“I am very excited to have Ryan join us” says Head Coach and G.M. Stephan Seeger Jr. “He is a very big young man who takes up a lot of the net and is efficient with his movements. Watching video on him, it was clear that Ryan is calm and tracks well for a bigger goalie. As an 18 year old he is an intriguing prospect for us to add into our now goalie trio going forward for the rest of the season.”
The Kings host the Nanaimo Clippers for two games this weekend and Tamelin is expected to suit up between the pipes. Friday is billet appreciation night at 7pm and then puck drop Saturday is at 5pm.
