Scouting the Spruce Kings:

Prince George opened their season with a pair of victories last weekend (4-1 over Surrey, 3-2 (OT) over Chilliwack) before falling 4-0 to the Langley Rivermen.  Cooper Williams found the scoresheet 3 times over the first two games, while Maks Perčič had the overtime winner against the Chiefs.  Carter Wishart made 30 saves against the Eagles earning his first BCHL win, while Ryder Green got his first BCHL win the next night, making 40 saves against Chilliwack in a game which saw the Chiefs outshoot the Spruce Kings 42-16.

The Spruce Kings look to add a couple forwards back in the mix as Brady Anes and Brock Cummings could make their season debuts this evening.

Scouting the Opposition – Coquitlam Express

The Express are coming off a pair of wins at home to start the 2024-2025 BCHL season. They defeated Chilliwack 3-1 and Cowichan Valley 8-4 in their opening 2 games. Joseph Odyniec, James Shannon, and Max Pendy each had 2 goals in the first two games, while Nate Crema added 4 assists. In goal, Eric Young picked up both wins, allowing 5 goals on 65 shots.

The Express return 6 forwards, 2 defensemen, and 2 goaltenders from their 2023-2024 team, which lost in 7 games to the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in the first round of the Rogers BCHL Playoffs.
