Vees acquire forward Ryden Evers

PENTICTON, B.C. – The Penticton Vees Junior Hockey Club have completed another trade ahead of the B.C. long weekend.

The Vees have acquired 2005-born forward Ryden Evers from the Sherwood Park Crusaders, in exchange for future considerations. Evers’ playing rights were acquired by the Crusaders from the Surrey Eagles in a previous transaction.

“Ryden brings size, skill, and championship experience. He was an integral part of Surrey stopping us two wins shy of winning three BCHL championships in a row,” commented Vees President, General Manager, and Head Coach Fred Harbinson. “I look forward to working with Ryden and preparing him ready for the next level.”

Evers, 19, is coming off a BCHL Fred Page Cup championship with the Eagles, who beat the Vees in six games in the league final in May. The Burnaby, B.C., product had a standout season with the Eagles, as he had a career high 53 points (22G, 31A) in 53 regular season games. He was the recipient of the BCHL’s Bob Fenton Trophy, awarded to the league’s most sportsmanlike player. The 6’3, 185-pound forward added four points (2G, 2A) in 10 playoff games, helping the Eagles to their first BCHL championship since 2013. Evers is committed to the University of Nebraska Omaha.

The Vees organization looks forward to welcoming Ryden to Penticton for the team’s Training Camp later this month, ahead of the 2024-25 season.
