Smoke Eaters acquire NCAA committed Elser from the Vees

Trail, British Columbia (October 2nd, 2020) – The Trail Smoke Eaters are excited to announce the acquisition of 20-year-old forward Drew Elser from the Penticton Vees for Future Considerations.

Elser, a BCHL and USHL Veteran comes to Trail after two seasons in Penticton. The University of Connecticut committed forward from Hopewell Junction, New York, brings a wealth of experience with him to Trail. Prior to coming to the BCHL he put up 16 points in 36 games as a 17-year-old with Central Illinois of the USHL. In the USHS-Prep league he had 13 points in 18 games. In that same year he played 11 games in the Minnesota High School League where he added 9 points in 11 games. While playing U16 hockey Elser had 54 points in 50 games.

“Drew is a player that will fit in with our group, he is motivated and excited to come to Trail and help the team in anyway he can” – HC&GM Tim Fragle.

The Trail Smoke Eaters want to welcome Drew to the City of Trail and are excited to have him join us for the 2020 season!
