[Women's Golf] Women's Golf | Alexa Rippy 1st Trevecca & G-MAC Golfer to advance to NCAA ...

CANTON, Ohio – Trevecca Nazarene University women's golfer Alexa Rippy moved up to 4th of 66 on the final day of the NCAA-II East Super Regional in the 2017 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships and in doing so advances to the NCAA Championships.

Rippy, who advanced to the regional three consecutive years, is the first Trojan to move on to the national championships in the NCAA Division II era. She is also the first golfer to represent the Great Midwest Athletic Conference at the NCAA D2 golf championships.

As an individual at the NCAA Regional Rippy needed to finish as one of the three top golfers not on one of the top three advancing teams. Rippy finished in the second of those three slots.

Rippy, who set the Trevecca record with her 11th career win this year, shot a three-over 75 on Monday, a one-over par 73 on Tuesday, and did not leave any doubt with a one-under 71 on Wednesday. Rippy finished fourth overall in the field of 66.
