[Women's Golf] Jamie Hubbard Continues Golf Career As A Cavalier

Hilton Head Island, SC - Another new face was added to an already phenomenal women's golf recruiting class as Jamie Hubbard of Hilton Head Island signed her national letter of intent to compete for the Lady Cavaliers beginning in the fall of 2017. Montreat coach John Sullivan made the announcement Friday.

Hubbard, who will graduate in May, has served as co-captain and #2 player on an Eagle's squad that has earned 5 state championships, including most recently, back to back SCISA state titles, the latter of which was won by an unprecedented 29 stroke margin of victory. In addition to her team success, she has enjoyed an impressive career individually, having finished 3rd at the state level her junior year, and has been named to the All-State Team 3 times.

Jamie is excited to have the chance to play collegiately saying "I chose Montreat because from the moment I stepped on campus for the first time, I fell in love with the atmosphere. I knew I wanted a small, Christian college and Montreat is the perfect place. I didn't think I would be playing college golf, but now I couldn't imagine it any other way."

Coach Sullivan is also excited to welcome Jamie to Montreat saying: "First and foremost, Jamie is outspoken about her love for the Lord and her desire to be a part of a Christ-centered team culture we're building here. She is an incredibly gifted player with a wonderful family and comes from a strong school that has prepared her not only athletically, but more importantly, academically, for the next level. She has the potential to be very competitive in our conference and is joining a team with an already strong foundation. We believe her best golf is ahead of her; we are so excited she's decided to call Montreat home for the next 4 years"

Jamie is the daughter of Michael and Jennifer Hubbard, and plans to major in Cyber-Security.
