KU signs women's golf to contract extension

LAWRENCE (KSNT) - Kansas women's golf is investing in head coach Lindsay Kuhle for the long run.

Kuhle is signing a three-year extension, KU director of athletics Travis Goff announced Monday, keeping her with the Jayhawks through the 2028-29 season. Since arriving to Lawrence in 2021, Kuhle has led KU women's golf to back-to-back NCAA regionals, the second and third appearances in program history.

In 2023-24, the Jayhawks maintained an all-time program low 289.3 stroke average.

"Coach Kuhle has had a tremendous start to her Jayhawk career, and we couldn't be more excited about the incredible momentum of our women's golf program under her leadership," Goff said in a press release from KU Athletics. "The program has already hit unprecedented heights both on the course and in the classroom, and we are thrilled to have her at the helm for years to come."

The Jayhawks finished the 2023-24 season in sixth place at the NCAA Cle Elum regional, marking the second-highest finish in program history. Kuhle and KU finished the season ranked No. 48 nationally.

"I am truly grateful for this extension and thrilled to build on our recent success in the upcoming years," Kuhle said in a press release from KU Athletics. "I personally want to thank Travis and [sport administrator] Nicole [Corcoran] for their belief in me and this program and their unwavering support since I've been here. Our success could not be possible without them."

KU women's golf begins its quest for its third-straight NCAA regional appearance on Sept. 9 at the Folds of Honor Collegiate in Michigan.
