Meet next MAGA star Kai Madison Trump, 17, who loves golf as much as grandpa Donald as she steps into RNC spotlight
DONALD Trump’s granddaughter Kai has followed in her grandfather’s footsteps and shares his love of golf and unwavering patriotism for the United States.
Kai, 17, the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and the eldest grandchild of the former president, took the stage at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night.
“I am honored to be speaking at the RNC at 9 pm (CDT),” she posted on her Instagram Stories.
She also shared a picture of Trump, 78, alongside his vice presidential pick, Ohio Senator JD Vance.
Kai took the stage at the RNC in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Wednesday night.
She was introduced by her dad, who said Kai asked on Monday to speak at the convention, just days after the attempted assassination of Trump.
“Before I begin my remarks, I’m going to do something a little uncharacteristic: a Trump is going to give up the microphone,” Trump Jr said.
Kai walked out and hugged her dad before launching into a brief speech – her first of the sort, according to her father.
She began by sharing her view of the former president, a side of him that “people don’t often see.”
“To me, he’s just a normal grandpa,” Kai said.
She talked about how the two play golf together and Trump tries to get inside her head.
“And he’s always surprised that I don’t let him get to me,” she said.
“I have to remind him that I’m a Trump too.”

Kai is one of Trump’s 10 grandchildren and the daughter of Donald Jr. and his ex-wife, Vanessa Trump.
Her other siblings include Tristian, Spencer, and Chloe.
She has attended many family events in the spotlight including Trump’s inauguration and Ivana Trump’s funeral.
In June, she shared a post of her family attending a Turning Point Action event in Detroit, Michigan with Trump.
HOLE IN ONE
Kai is an avid golfer which she posts about on social media and her YouTube channel.
The first video, posted to her channel on October 10, 2023, was titled, “Get to Know Kai Trump!”
She played golf as her friend asked questions about her interests and hobbies.
Kai said her favorite things included pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks, playing watersports and tennis, and spending time with friends and family.
She said her favorite foods were prosciutto meat and ricotta cheese.
The teen also shared her hopes for her YouTube channel.

“It should overall be a fun channel,” Kai said in the video.
In March, she won the ladies club championship at Trump’s golf course in Palm Beach, Florida.
She shared the exciting news with a post featuring the former president smiling next to her.
“Great competition from some impressive players. I shot even both days and won both matches,” she wrote on Instagram.
Republican National Convention Roundup
Republican voters and lawmakers stood united as they gathered at the Republican National Convention to formally announce Donald Trump as the party's presidential candidate.
Day one of the RNC:
- Over 2,000 Republican delegates descended onto Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum the week of July 15, 2024, to officially recognize Donald Trump as their presidential candidate for the 2024 election.
- GOP representatives of each state pledged their delegates to Trump.
- As delegates were voting, Donald Trump announced in a Truth Social post that he chose Ohio Senator JD Vance as his running mate for the 2024 election.
- Vance, 39, who was present at the conference, took the stage after the roll call and received a standing ovation from his GOP constituents.
- Later that evening, Trump made his first public appearance since surviving an attempted assassination at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennslyvania, on July 13, 2024.
- An emotional Trump was met with massive applause as he made his way to the stage to join his vice president nominee, sons Don. Jr. and Eric, and fellow Republicans.
- Trump was pictured wearing a bandage on his right ear after a bullet from an AR-15-style rifle tore a piece of his ear days prior.
Day two of the RNC:
- The Republican Party stood united during day two of the RNC, praising their presidential candidate with support and admiration.
- GOP leaders praised law enforcement, border security, and public safety while ripping the Biden administration.
- Trump’s most prominent primary challengers, including Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis, aligned with the former president’s policies while seemingly rescinding their previous statements about Trump.
- “I haven’t always agreed with Trump. But we agree more often than we disagree,” Haley said, adding that Trump asked her to speak at the conference.
- “President Trump asked me to speak at this convention in the name of unity. It was a gracious invitation, and I was happy to accept.”
- Florida Governor DeSantis, who Trump has previously called Ron DeSanctimonious, expressed full support for the former president.
- “Donald Trump has been demonized, he’s been sued, he’s been prosecuted, and he’s almost lost his life. We cannot let him down, and we cannot let America down,” DeSantis said.
- The Florida governor and former presidential candidate added, “We need a commander-in-chief who can lead 24 hours a day and seven days a week. America can not afford four more years of a ‘Weekend at Bernie’s presidency.”
- Other GOP heavyweights such as Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Sara Huckabee Sanders, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Ben Carson pledged their support for Trump.
“Very proud of my game and where it’s heading but there is always room for improvement.”

“To me, he’s just a normal grandpa,” Kai said.
“He calls me during the school day to ask me how my golf game is going.”
Kai said she has to then remind Trump she’s in school and she’ll call him back later.
“He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking,” she continued.
Kai also mentioned his pride in his grandchildren, recalling a time he printed out her honor roll certificate and hung it up.
“Obviously, he sets the bar pretty high, but who knows, maybe one day I’ll catch him,” Kai continued.
“A lot of people have put my grandpa through hell and he’s still standing.”
‘NEVER STOP FIGHTING’
Following the assassination attempt on Trump at his rally in Bulter, Pennsylvania, Kai made a heartwarming post, supporting her grandfather.
She posted a picture of the former president with his fist raised and blood splattered across his face as he was being led away by the Secret Service.
“We love you, Grandpa. Never stop fighting!” she wrote.
Kai also addressed the assassination attempt during her RNC speech.
“On Saturday I was shocked when I heard he was shot,” Kai said, adding the situation was “heartbreaking.”
“A lot of people have put my grandpa through hell and he’s still standing.”
