ANNA MAGNUSSON TO RESUME SWEDISH STRETCH IN GOTEBORG

0 3

Sweden’s Anna Magnusson is looking forward to teeing it up in her homeland as the LET Access Series (LETAS) season continues with the Swedish stretch at Kungsbacka Golfklubb.

The Goteborg Open will see 112 players compete for a purse of 40,000 EUR in the 54-hole event from August 24–26.

The Swede, who is currently sitting in the fifth position on the LETAS Order of Merit has had a consistent season and eyes the top six finish at the end of the year which secures the full 2023 LET card.

She said: “I’m feeling good, it’s been fun to fight to get a win this season. I’m just trying to stay patient and enjoy every day on the course.”

The 27-year-old has five top-10 finishes to her name this year and added four more results within the top 20.

“I’m very proud of my finish in Switzerland at the beginning of the season because I really showed myself that hard work pays off.”

The LETAS calendar saw a week off last week and the Swede is happy to be close to home this month, having competed in back-to-back events in Vasteras and Uppsala.

“I really enjoy being at home and close to my family. My Mom grew up in Gothenburg and I spent every summer here as a kid, so this is like my second hometown.

“Last week I just enjoyed watching the Challenge Tour at my home course in Stockholm and it really inspired me to practice more.”

The best Swedish player on the rankings targets her maiden win on Tour as she already celebrated two triumphs in the past on the Ahlsell Nordic Golf Tour which runs all Scandinavian events on the LETAS calendar.

Play goes underway on Wednesday morning at 8:00 local time from the first tee. Magnusson will play alongside compatriot Emma Thorngren and England’s Amy Taylor, starting at 12:50 pm local time.
