Captains Corner – October 2021
Sherbet, we are in the middle of November already and I have written nothing in October. I do apologise but October has been HECK TICK. We have been rating courses at a rate of knots, went on tour with the Tee Totallers and also playing in lots of golf days.
With October came the rain and the course started changing colour to a beautiful emerald green. All we need is some more rain and then we will back to summer courses.
Jason and Calvin have really settled in nicely and as I have said to everyone, I do believe that the two of them will make an awesome team and will take our club to the best overall experience. The difference is already noticeable.
Please remember that the auctions will take place at November’s Captains Draw even though they only come into effect 1st February 2022 and the current agreements end on the 31st January 2022.
LADIES SECTION
Our Ladies section held their Presidents Trophy day during the month and it was a huge success. The golf was of a high standard and a light lunch was enjoyed by all. Not to mention one or two liquid refreshments. The overall trophy winner was our very own Ladies Captain, Retha White, congratulations.
I have heard through the grapevine that the girls should look forward to an awesome Christmas party.
LEAGUES
The Betterball League side finished 6th in their league and will maintain their status in the B division. Well, done guys.
The Junior league side have also completed their fixtures and finished joint 4th in their division and will remain in the B Division.
Our Ladies Sunday league side won their division but unfortunately lost the semi-final playoff to Jackal Creek Golf Estate. They can be extremely proud of themselves, AWESOME.
Our Mid-Am side have one more game left and are currently lying joint second in the A Division.
The Scratch League A side has a bit of a sad season and are currently lying 7th in the C Division. The B side is performing much better and are joint 2nd in the D Division.
In November we can look forward to the Mixed Open, Greenkeeper’s Revenge and Boere vs Souties. The Greenkeeper’s revenge will be more of a fun day than ridiculous tee and pin placements and I am sure you will all enjoy it. So, make sure you all enter.
