Trump Organization releases video of golf bad boy John Daly boasting vodka will ‘kill’ coronavirus

THE TRUMP Organization has released a video of golfer John Daly boasting that vodka will kill the coronavirus.

In the video, Daly is holding a bottle of Belvedere vodka and telling supporters to “drink one of these a day”.

The video was posted on YouTube

The sports star begins by plugging the president’s golf courses – which Donald Trump owns 16 of – before speaking about his method to “kill the coronavirus“.

Daly said: “I only drink one drink a day, it just happens to be a bottle of good old Belvedere.

“Just drink one of these a day. You know, sippy, sippy on a McDonald’s diet Coke ya know, wash it down pretty good. Never have a hangover.

“And that’s the way you kill this coronavirus I believe.

“But y’all be safe, take care and hopefully we’ll be getting back to the things we do best pretty soon.”

However, on April 14, the World Health Organization released a report stating that alcohol does not protect against the virus.

The statement said: “Fear and misinformation have generated a dangerous myth that consuming high-strength alcohol can kill the COVID-19 virus. It does not.

“Consuming any alcohol poses health risks, but consuming high-strength ethyl alcohol (ethanol), particularly if it has been adulterated with methanol, can result in severe health consequences, including death.

“Alcohol consumption is associated with a range of communicable and noncommunicable diseases and mental health disorders, which can make a person more vulnerable to COVID-19.

The WHO also recommended that people cut down their alcohol intake during the pandemic.

“In particular, alcohol compromises the body’s immune system and increases the risk of adverse health outcomes,” the statement continued.

“Therefore, people should minimize their alcohol consumption at any time, and particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The coronavirus has devastated the United States, having killed at least 41,316 Americans.

The country currently has a total of 770,076 confirmed cases.

However, 71,489 have recovered from the disease.
