Grace Laffin scored a Hole in One
Grace Laffin scored a Hole in One on Junior Captains’ Day!
Grace just got her handicap of 49 in August after following the Golf4Girls4Life programme in June. She then had lessons every Monday and Thursday from the club professional Stephen Gordon and gradually built up the number of holes she played out on the course following the Bangor Golf Club Academy Scheme. First the young people play three holes, then six holes then six holes off the red tees and finally nine holes when they can put in cards for handicap.
By Junior Captains’ Day she was able to play 18 holes.
Grace took a driver on to the 12th green. It bounced just in front of the green and then dropped into the hole!
She scored 6 points for this! Consequently she won the back nine prize on the day! Well done Grace!
Grace is pictured with her match card, and Rae McGookin the girls’ convenor.
Also with her proud father and her prizes.
