Golfer performs trick shot over moving hazard

0 13

A golfer in Florida hit what was akin to a trick shot when he stepped up to his golf ball and struck it just as an alligator passed in front of him.

Steel Lafferty, a professional wakeboarder, told Fox 35 he was playing at ChampionGate Country Club in Osceola County on Wednesday when he encountered the 7-foot alligator approaching his ball.

As the alligator sauntered in front of him, Lafferty cautiously addressed his ball and then hit a solidly struck shot over the alligator and toward the green.

“Golfing in Florida is just different,” Lafferty wrote on Instagram.

The alligator kept walking for 100 yards before finally disappearing into a lake near the green, Lafferty told Fox 35.

The reaction to his “trick shot” is pretty much what one would expect.

One commenter on Instagram wrote, “You’re out of your mind.”

“Can’t decide if that’s savage or stupid,” another wrote.
