Wires71 does have a point. It's usually talked about by the expansion fantasists who like to talk about expanding SL in to Cardiff, Edinburgh, Barcelona, Oxford and so on under the idea that RL is so good a product that it will naturally take off once you put a franchise there and the only reason why previous expansion efforts have failed is through poor marketing and so on.

RL is a game that we all like for whatever reason, in the same way that lots of people like golf, snooker, cricket, F1, RU, NFL, cycling or whatever, but equally you get lots of other people who would look at any of those sports and say why on earth would anybody spend hours of their life watching that? It just comes down to personal tastes, and it's arrogant to assume that rugby league is some kind of superior sport to others.
