The Latest: Woods goes wayward while Koepka birdies at PGA
ST. LOUIS (AP) — The Latest on the PGA Championship, golf's final major of the year (all times local):
5:15 p.m.
Tiger Woods hit his drive at the par-5 17th the one place he couldn't afford it: right.
Woods was one shot back of Brooks Koepka and Adam Scott with two holes remaining when he came to the penultimate hole at Bellerive. As he did several times on the front nine, Woods flared his tee shot to the right, where a stream running the length of the hole comes into play.
The ball stayed out of the water but became embedded in the stream bank. He took a wedge and a mighty hack at the ball, getting it into the fairway and keeping his birdie hopes alive.
