Redwood City’s Lucy Li pleased after round of 68 in U.S. Women’s Amateur
Redwood City’s Lucy Li opened the stroke play portion of the U.S. Women’s Amateur in Tennessee on Monday with a 3-under-par 68 that left her two shots behind the clubhouse leader with half the field still playing.
Li, who lost in the semifinals of the U.S. Girls Junior at Poppy Hills two weeks ago, was bogey-free during her round at The Golf Club of Tennessee in Kingston Springs.
“I played really consistent today, hit a lot of greens,” Li said. “I felt like there were a few putts I could have made, but I still made a few good saves. Overall, just a really consistent round.
“The greens are really soft, so you could really attack the pins out there.
