Why D would be penalized ?
Because the definition of partner say : "In threesome, foursome, best-ball or four-ball play, where the context so admits, the word “player” includes his partner or partners."
And/or if C is already disqualified for the hole, his breach of R8-1 can only be paid by D ?
This is my only outline of a solution for the moment.
To me the reason for the text in the definition has another perpose.
