[Men's Golf] Trevecca Men's Golf | Whittemore Wins Findlay Spring Invite, Trojans Finish Sixth
LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Trevecca Nazarene University men's golf team finished in sixth while Larken Whittemore (JR/Lafayette, TN) shot a 71 for a two-day total of (69+71) 140 to win the Findlay Spring Invite on Tuesday at the University Club of Kentucky.

LARKEN WHITTEMORE
Larken Whittemore won the University of Findlay Invitational on the Big Blue Course at the University Club of Kentucky.
Whittemore won for the second time this year with a four-under par (69-71=140) tournament. Whittemore set numerous Trojan records when he won the Mississippi College Invitational March 6-7, 2018.
Whittemore finished the first round in a three-way tie for first with Ian Carroll (U. of Indianapolis) and Alex Scott (Grand Valley State) after shooting a three-under 69.
Whittemore finished second in the field with a three-under par total on the par four holes. The junior finished third in the field with eight birdies. Blain Turner (FR/Mt. Juliet, TN) finished eighth in the field with six birdies.

The other Trojans in the field included; Blain Turner who finished in 22nd place with a 77-73=150, Trevor Lay (SR/Kewanee, IL) 73-82=155, Connor Conkel 79-79=158, and Payton Williams (SR/Clarksville, TN) 79-83=162.
As a team the Trojans finished in sixth with a total team score of 298-305= 603.
TOURNAMENT FIELD REPORT
Behind Whittemore was Ian Carroll (U. of Indianapolis) and Alex Scott (Grand Valley State) who were two strokes behind for a total of 69+73=142. Mason Motte (Saginaw Valley State) finished in fourth, three strokes behind Whittemore with a two-day total of 76+67=143. Oliver Mast (U. of Indianapolis) rounded out the top five with a two-day total of 71+73=144.
TOURNAMENT TEAM LEADERBOARD
The host Oilers of Findlay were the top finishing Great Midwest team with a 304-298=602, just one stroke and place ahead of the Trojans. Tiffin University, who will join the G-MAC next season, finished 8th with a 294-310=604. Cedarville University (16th / 305-317=622), Hillsdale College (18th / 319-310=629), Ohio Dominican University (19th / 314-316=630), Walsh University (21st / 326-318=644), Malone University (22nd / 327-323=650), and Alderson Broaddus University (23rd / 327-338=665) were the other G-MAC teams competing.
WHAT'S NEXT
On April 8th Trevecca goes to the Purgatory Invitational hosted by the University of Indianapolis for a three-day tournament. The competition will be held at the Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Indiana.
