OLD HICKORY, Tenn. - The Trevecca Nazarene University women's golf team finished in seventh at the Phoenix Invitational at the Old Hickory Country Club. Rachel McMahan finished in second place for the Trojans with a two-day total of 76+76=152

TREVECCA TEAM  

The Trojans had two finish in the top 10 as following Rachael McMahan (SO/Knoxville, TN)'s 76 was Lexie Shaw (SO/Knoxville, TN) (SO/Knoxville, TN) who shot six strokes better in round two finishing in 10th with a two-day total of 81+75=156.

Rachael McMahan and Lexi Shaw both had five birdies placing them at the top of the field. 

Brynn Craven (SO/McMinnville, TN) also shot six strokes better in round two finishing with a 92+86=178 to finish in 47th place. Behind Craven was teammate Madalyn Hembree (FR/Chattanooga, TN) who's 89+90=179 helped her to a spot in the top 50. Sophie Vinson (FR/Manchester, TN) shot 89+94=183 to round out the Trojans five.

Rachael McMahan finished with the best average (one-under par) on the par three holes while Lexi Shaw finished with a one-over par total, third best overall. McMahan finished fifth overall in the field with a seven-over par total on the par four holes. Brynn Craven and Sophie Vinson each finished fifth overall on the par three holes with a two-over par total. 

TOURNAMENT FIELD REPORT

Aleesha Smith of William Carey University claimed in the individual tournament with a 74+74=148. Nicole Jung (Taylor University) shot a two-day total of 77+75=152 and tied with McMahan in second. Hannah Sager (Faulkner University) finished in fourth with a total of 75+78=153 while Tia Teiniketo (Dalton State) and Raquel Romero Valverde (Cumberland University) tied for fifth with a total of 154.

TOURNAMENT TEAM LEADERBOARD

Dalton State won the tournament with a 621-team score while William Carey University (628) finished second. Taylor University finished in third with a 643-team score while Cumberland University (645) and Faulkner University (650) rounded out the top five. Trevecca finished 16 strokes ahead of Bethel who was in eighth place.

Trevecca competes in the Great Midwest Conference Championship on April 16 and 17 hosted at the Four Bridges Country Club in Mason, Ohio.
