[Men's Golf] Ethan Neumer signs to golf at St. Ambrose in 2018-19
St. Ambrose University Men's Golf Coach Jeff Griebel is excited to announce the signing of one of the top high school golfers from Northern Illinois.
Ethan Neumer from South Beloit, Ill., has signed a Letter of Intent and will attend St. Ambrose University in the fall 2018. Neumer is a senior at Rockton Hononegah High School (Ill).
Neumer was named to the Northern Illinois (NIC) Boys Golf All-Conference First Team in 2015, 2016 and 2017. He was also named to the Rockford All-Area Boys Golf Team and was the regional medalist in 2016. Neumer had the low scoring average in the NIC boy's golf conference in 2017 and was named his high school golf team's MVP both his junior and senior seasons. Neumer finished in fifth place at the Illinois High School (IHSAA) Boy's Golf Regional Tournament and in eighth place at the Boy's Golf NIC Conference Tournament in 2017.
Neumer is also one of the top players in the Mid-American Junior Golf Tour (MAJGT) sponsored by the Illinois Junior Golf Association with two top-10 finishes in 2017. He is currently ranked 24th in the MAJGT season point standings.
"We are very pleased to continue to attract the top golf talent in the Northern Illinois area with the addition of Ethan Neumer to our program," Coach Griebel said. "Ethan has had a tremendous high school and junior career and will be an impact player in our program at St. Ambrose over the next four years."
Neumer will be joining a St. Ambrose golf team that has qualified for the NAIA Men's Golf National Tournament 13 times since 2000. St. Ambrose will host the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill., May 15-18, 2018.
