Germany's Leroy Sane leaves national team citing personal reasons

Germany's Joachim Low insists his side showed they are still among the world's best after a poor World Cup with the attitude they showed in their 0-0 draw with France.

Germany forward Leroy Sane has left the national team for personal reasons ahead of a friendly against Peru on Sunday, the German football association said on Friday.

Sane, who was left out of the World Cup squad, came on for Marco Reus in the 83rd minute of the goalless draw against France in the UEFA Nations League opener on Thursday.
