Socceroos coach announces preliminary World Cup squad

Socceroos coach Bert van Marwijk has announced the 32-man squad he will be taking to Turkey in preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, including six new faces. The squad will eventually be whittled down to 23 members who will travel to Russia for matches. The forwards will be chosen from: Daniel Arzani, Tim Cahill, Apostolos Giannou, Tomi Juric, Mathew Leckie, Jamie Maclaren, Andrew Nabbout, Dimi Petratos and Nikita Rukavytsya. The midfielders include: Joshua Brilliante, Jackson Irvine, Mile Jedinak, Robbie Kruse, Massimo Luongo, Mark Milligan, Aaron Mooy, Tom Rogic and James Troisi. The defenders include: Aziz Behich, Milos Degenek, Alex Gersbach, Matthew Jurman, Fran Karacic, James Meredith, Josh Risdon, Trent Sainsbury, Aleksandar Susnjar, and Bailey Wright. And finally, the goalkeepers will be chosen from Brad Jones, Mathew Ryan, Mitchell Langerak and Danny Vukovic.
