After guiding Australia to the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Ange Postecoglou announces his resignation as coach of the Socceroos. Australian football needs to let the dust settle on chaotic times before choosing a new national team coach, ex-Socceroos captain John Kosmina says.

As fresh support came for Sydney FC boss Graham Arnold to replace Ange Postecoglou as Australia's coach, Kosmina called for any decision to wait until after the sport had sorted out governance issues.

"It's certainly chaotic at the moment for a whole lot of different reasons," Kosmina told AAP on Thursday.
